On the day of your Driving Test.

 You will need to present BOTH parts of your Provisional Driving licence(i.e.Paper part & plastic id card), your theory test certificate and appointment letter to the DSA examiner.

 You have the choice of having your instructor or other accompanying driver to sit in on your test or not.(Recommended but not compulsory)

The Practical Driving Test lasts for approximately 40 minutes and you will be driving on a wide range of roads. The driving test is conducted by a DSA examiner who will give clear directions in good time for you to follow. Along the way you will usually be asked to perform 2 reversing exercises of the examiners choice and possibly an emergency stop exercise. 

At the beginning of the driving test you will be asked to read a number plate from a minimum distance of 20.5metres(67 feet). You will then be asked 2 questions on the ‘show me, tell me’ exercise, about basic car maintenance.
